WASSCE: student to resit examination
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has authorized the public about the introduction of resit exams for candidates. The updated regulation will authorize students to retake their WASSCE papers as early as January and February 2025. This is a significant departure from previous years, where candidates were obligated to wait for the next private exam period.
John Kapi, spokesperson for WAEC, affirmed the statement during a segment on JoyNews AM Show in Ghana. He elaborated that students who review their scores and find they need to retake one or more subjects must register online by January 8, 2025, either on WAEC’s website or at WAEC-recognized internet cafés.
The exams are set to occur from January 24 to February 15, 2025. Kapi further highlighted that students whose results were revoked can take the WASSCE PC1 exams, provided they have not been barred for misconduct in past years.
