The operation occurred a month after Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli naval base on the northern Mediterranean coast, home to an elite naval commando unit.
According to CNN, members of Israel’s Shayetet 13 special forces conducted the raid, capturing the Hezbollah operative after landing in northern Lebanon.
An Israeli official informed CNN that the operative is currently under investigation by an intelligence unit within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
