In an Instagram story update, the Afrofusion artist shared that he lives with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and tends to be easily startled while performing. He detailed that his exit from the stage on Tuesday night was triggered by a fan's attempt to grab him.
PTSD is a psychological condition that affects individuals’ ability to recover after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic incident.
He also seized the chance to request that fans honor his personal space and boundaries, while conveying his appreciation for their ongoing support.
“It was a complimentary performance. I was scheduled to perform for 10 minutes but ended up going for nearly an hour. Everyone is aware of my rule about being startled during my performances,” he explained.
“I had an unforgettable time with Lagos State last night. Please don’t jump onto my stage like that! I live with PTSD. Much love to all of you. Happy New Year!”
The celebration, held at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), marked a key part of an annual event across the five IBILE divisions of Lagos, including Ikorodu, Badagry, Agege, and Epe.
The show included performances from prominent artists like Olamide, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Seyi Vibez, 9ice, BNXN, and fuji legend Adewale Ayuba.
