In his new Apple Music show, The King’s Music Room, recorded at his Buckingham Palace office, King Charles III displayed his eclectic musical tastes.
Commonwealth artists such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido, and Raye are featured on the playlist, which covers genres like disco, reggae, and Afrobeats.
In celebration of Commonwealth Day, the show will air next Monday.
In his position as Head of the Commonwealth, the King deemed the playlist to be the musical representation of his life.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others,” Charles III said.
He included: “So this is what I particularly wanted to share – songs which have brought me joy.
“This seemed such an interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth Day.”
