The EFCC has charged Okoye and Northside Music Limited with seven counts of money laundering.
On February 26, 2025, Okoye entered a plea of 'not guilty' to the charges during his arraignment.
The court heard opposing arguments on Monday: Inibehe Effiong, for the defense, requested bail based on Okoye's health, while Fanen Anum, for the prosecution, argued against bail, citing flight risk and potential witness interference, and additionally requested an accelerated trial.
Justice Owoeye granted Okoye bail, deeming the charges bailable, but imposed strict conditions: N100 million bail with two sureties in the same amount, one of whom must own property within the court's jurisdiction, and mandatory EFCC notification before any travel outside the jurisdiction.
