The demonstration intensified into brutality, leading to harm to the monarch and destruction of sections of the palace. Law enforcement has been dispatched to safeguard the area, as reported.
Governor Adeleke, in a statement from his representative Olawale Rasheed, condemned the violent actions and vigilantism, highlighting that such conduct is unacceptable. He directed the Commissioner of Police to ensure the safety of the region and capture those responsible for the attack.
The governor also called on the Olojudo of Ido Osun, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde, to admonish the youths and assist the ongoing law enforcement actions.
"It is unacceptable to use violence to settle disputes within the community, and those responsible will face the full consequences of the law," Governor Adeleke stated. He also directed the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Dosu Babatunde, to begin peace-building actions and work closely with law enforcement to alleviate tensions.
Adeleke encouraged communities with concerns to approach the relevant government bodies for conflict resolution, cautioning, 'We will not accept violence in any form.'
