Defamation Suit: Queeneth Hilbert Challenges IGP, Destiny Etiko in Court

Popular Nigerian actress, Queeneth Hilbert has sued the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun following an alleged attempt to arrest her.

At the Federal High Court in Lagos State, Queeneth initiated a fundamental human rights legal action.

Hilbert, in a lawsuit dated March 10, 2025, alleged that the Nigeria Police Force attempted to arrest her, prompted by her colleague and best friend, Destiny Etiko.

She denounced the police's attempt as an 'illegal, unlawful, and flagrant' breach of her constitutional rights, and requested protection from being arrested, detained, or questioned about her March 7th Instagram post.

As part of her lawsuit, Queeneth is claiming N100 million in damages for what she describes as 'unlawful invasion.'

Destiny Etiko had previously filed a N100 million lawsuit against Queeneth, alleging defamation.
