Rapper, Sasha P raises alarm over increase of wealth, in Nigeria

Seasoned Nigerian musician, Anthonia Yetunde Alabi, commonly called Sasha P, has raised alarms about the increasing obsession with wealth in Nigeria. The 41-year-old artist observed that Nigerians now attribute too much value to wealth, treating the affluent as though they were divine beings.

She underscored that wealth does not shape a person’s character; it simply amplifies it. Sasha P disapproved of the tendency to address disagreements by asking about someone's financial worth, considering it improper and a sign of skewed values.

On her X feed, she wrote, "I think we went astray when people started evaluating your worth by how much money you own. In Nigeria, money is revered, and anyone displaying wealth is seen as a god. But the truth is, you can possess great wealth and still be lacking in wisdom!"

'Having money doesn’t automatically make you interesting or someone worth being around. It doesn’t relieve you of accountability or provide you with emotional intelligence. Wealth is simply a magnifier your character is what shapes your fate!'

She finished by expressing, "It’s so unworthy when the immediate response to an insult is, 'How much do you even have?' Your worth should never be tied to your possessions."
